November 1st Vibes: Geese, Coffee, and Crisp Fall Weather

November 1st Vibes: Geese, Coffee, and Crisp Fall Weather

This morning started off with rain, but it finally cleared up, leaving behind perfect, crisp fall air. The kind of weather that just makes you want to breathe deep, grab a cozy sweater, and wander around. I started my day in writing lab, where I scored a 90 on my essay! πŸŽ‰ It’s not perfect yet—a few revisions to go—but I’ll take the win.

Today’s also a special day—it’s my Aunt Dee Dee’s birthday. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Aunt Dee Dee. πŸŽ‚ Thinking of you brings back so many memories, and I just want to celebrate you. You’re missed, but you’re here with us in spirit.

After class, I headed to the Student Union for breakfast. The bacon was on point—crispy and delicious—and honestly, I think I could eat it every day. πŸ₯“ I could use a quick ride to IHOP, though—that would be the dream. For now, I’ll settle for on-campus breakfast, but there’s nothing quite like a full IHOP stack when you really want to treat yourself. πŸ₯ž

Lost in the Moment at the Student Union

So, after breakfast, I decided to kick back in the Student Union for a bit and watch some videos. Before I knew it, time had totally slipped away! One minute I was relaxing, the next I was rushing out of there trying to make it back to class by 11:30. Guess I got too comfortable! πŸ˜‚ Nothing like a little last-minute dash to keep things interesting.

The Geese are Back at It

On my way to class, I had to stop and watch the campus geese making their way back across the street like they own the place. I honestly wonder what they’re up to all day—probably just waddling around, being lazy asses, and living the good life. πŸ˜‚ They’ve got their routine down!

Before leaving the Student Union, I grabbed some water and a cup of lemonade and made it back to class, only to find...where are the students? πŸ˜† There are only four of us here! Maybe everyone’s running late. Anywho, I made it to class, lol. Happy Friday, everyone! πŸŽ‰

Done with Classes for the Day

Ok, I’m done with classes for today. I don’t know where the students are at, but we had even fewer students than this morning in writing class—only five of us! πŸ˜† And none of the students who came for writing lab showed up for writing class. Like, wtf are you coming to college for? This one guy always looks so lost, lol, poor soul. Well, I'm on the bus on my way home.

Also, it’s so beautiful outside! Yes, let’s keep this weather all the way till December, lol, because I don’t know what’s happening, but I love it! πŸ‚πŸŒž

Election Countdown and Staying Informed

Countdown to the Election:
Days: 4
Hours: 6
Minutes: 34
Seconds: 52

With only four days to go, the stress about this election is really ramping up. The stakes feel high, and it’s on all of us to make our voices heard. First, don’t listen to faux news (Fox News) or any shows that lean toward Trump—don’t even listen to him. Do your own research.

Black men, don’t be fooled. To Trump and his supporters, you’ll never be seen as an equal. Jim Crow laws weren’t that long ago, and look at the systemic issues you face today, with Black men killed by white men every day in this country. Yet some are supporting him—why? Is it really because you hate seeing a successful, qualified, biracial woman πŸ‘©πŸ½‍πŸ«πŸ‘©πŸΎ who represents progress and inclusivity? Wake up, Black men and Black people; Trump won’t protect you or advance your future—he’ll only arrest you or worse. And, for the love of God, no, he didn’t give you the stimulus checks. πŸ’°

Black men, I want you to know that if the police decide to harm you in any way, Trump wants to let them have full immunity and no repercussions for their actions, including killing you. Think about that; it’s not difficult to figure out who the better candidate is. I mean, for Christ's sake, the man is a failed businessman and reality star who knows nothing about anything. Be informed. πŸ“š

Women in general, why are you supporting this orange idiot? 🀷🏾‍♀️ He’s consistently shown a lack of respect for women, and it’s baffling that anyone would vote for someone so openly dismissive of our rights and our value. Don’t ignore the reality that women are dying simply because hospitals won’t perform needed procedures to help them and their babies. Look up Project 25 and see the facts for yourself—don’t be ignorant. ❗

So let’s stay engaged, stay informed, and show up to vote. Harris's campaign, in particular, has been pushing for key issues around healthcare, economic stability, and addressing climate change, which gives me a lot of hope. If you're interested, here’s a breakdown of her campaign platform and the main points they’re hoping to address.

November is off to a good start, with cozy weather, good food, laughs, and love for Aunt Dee Dee. Here’s hoping it stays this nice a little longer. πŸ‚
