Frozen Classroom Chronicles: When Even Two Heaters Aren’t Enough

Image
Shoutout to my professor for actually  acknowledging  that we’re all freezing and getting us  two heaters —a true hero. πŸ™ŒπŸΎ But let’s be honest… this weather?  It’s built different.  Earlier, it was  16 degrees  (which should be illegal), and now it’s  23 degrees , but does it feel any better?  Absolutely not. I swear, these heaters are  trying their best , but the cold is just  laughing at us.  Like, “Oh, you thought two heaters would help? That’s cute.” Meanwhile, I’m still sitting here, wrapped in my coat, clutching my coffee like it’s  a source of warmth and emotional support.  ☕ Current Mood: ❄️ Can’t feel my fingers ❄️ Shivering in layers like a human burrito ❄️ Wondering if it’s socially acceptable to bring a blanket to class ❄️ Debating if I should start wearing thermal gloves indoors Me, Right Now: You ever see that  Homer Simpson meme  where he’s buried under a mountain of blankets with just his l...

The Rollercoaster of a Saturday Night: Bathtub Disasters, Ancient Aliens, and Everything in Between πŸ›πŸ‘½πŸ“±

Saturday night, and I was ready for a relaxing bath after a busy week. The plan? An oatmeal Epsom soak, some peaceful reading, and just unwinding. I had everything set: my book, my iPad, my bath filled with warm water… or so I thought. But no—the hot water completely bailed on me. I waited patiently, reading my book, hoping for the water to warm up. Despite running it for a while, the comforting warmth I craved never came. To top it off, I got into the bath anyway, but it was freezing! So much for my long, peaceful soak. My 20-minute timer went off, and I was left sitting in cold water, wishing for just a little bit of comfort. Talk about a huge letdown. 😩❄️ I was all set to do my usual routine afterward: changing my expired insulin pump and Dexcom sensor. But nope, that didn’t happen. Instead, I wrapped up my bath early and decided to switch gears. I reattached my sensors, grabbed some chips and lemonade πŸŸπŸ‹, and settled in to watch  Ancient Aliens  on TV. (Honestly, my nig...

First Day Jitters: Surviving Math, Mixed Media, and Writing Classes as an Awkwardly Introverted College Student

First Day of College: A Rollercoaster of Emotions and New Challenges So yesterday was my first day back at college, and OMG 😳—what was I thinking? πŸ˜‚ For real, though, I was completely lost in my algebra class. Like, I definitely need a tutor because math has never been my strong suit, and to top it off, the professor gave us homework on the very first day. I’m over here pulling my hair out, seriously. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about this new direction in my life, but I could definitely do without math. Next up was my mixed media collage class, where we had to draw ourselves. Let me tell you—my non-artistic behind was horrendous at it. πŸ˜‚ I can’t draw to save my life, but digitally? Maybe. Can’t I just skip these and jump straight to my major with all the computers and graphic design? I’m way more comfortable there. But nope, I’ve got writing classes too, and another drawing class, this time with charcoal. I took that class back in San Francisco at AAU, and even then, I had a tu...
