Rainy Mondays and Forgotten Everything 🌧️
Monday started off completely on the wrong foot—and honestly, it never recovered.
I left the house thinking I was good to go, only to realize once I got to class that I had forgotten everything. No iPad. No charger. No umbrella. No rain boots. And to top it off, no pen. Who forgets a pen on a school day? Me, apparently. I was just sitting there in class with absolutely nothing, looking like I rolled out of a cloud and into a mess.
And of course, it was pouring. Not just a light drizzle—pouring ☔. The kind of rain that soaks you straight through, no matter what you’re wearing. My sneakers were immediately drenched, and my socks? Squishy. My windbreaker did what it could, but eventually that got soaked too. I could feel cold rain sliding down my shirt and sticking to my skin, and the discomfort was unreal.
After class, I stopped at 7-Eleven to grab a coffee and some of their hot chicken ☕🍗. My stomach was fine, but I needed something warm—and honestly, I was just trying to reset the day. But while I was waiting at the second bus stop, already wet and tired, the smell of McDonald’s fries drifted through the air like a siren call 🍟. I had just eaten, but that smell had me wanting to spend even more money I didn’t plan on spending. It was pure temptation.
The bus was supposed to arrive in four minutes, but of course… it was late 🕒. Because why not? I was already cold, damp, and trying to resist the pull of fries. I stood there, feeling like a soggy french fry myself—just waiting for the day to be over.
Finally, I saw what looked like the bus coming up the street. I squinted through the rain like I was seeing a mirage. I hoped it was mine. I needed it to be mine. If it wasn’t, I might’ve just melted right into the sidewalk.
And guess what? It’s still raining. It hasn’t let up, and apparently it’s going to rain all week 🌧️. But the bright side? I’m done with both of my classes tomorrow, and honestly, that thought alone is what’s getting me through ✅.
As of now, it’s 10:45 p.m. I’ve been home for a while, dry and toasty, and I’m cozied up playing The Sims 🛋️🎮. No more running around in the rain for me. No outside tomorrow—I’m good right here.
