Rainy Mondays and Forgotten Everything 🌧️

Image
Monday started off completely on the wrong foot—and honestly, it never recovered. I left the house thinking I was good to go, only to realize once I got to class that I had forgotten everything. No iPad. No charger. No umbrella. No rain boots. And to top it off, no pen. Who forgets a pen on a school day? Me, apparently. I was just sitting there in class with absolutely nothing, looking like I rolled out of a cloud and into a mess. And of course, it was pouring. Not just a light drizzle—pouring ☔. The kind of rain that soaks you straight through, no matter what you’re wearing. My sneakers were immediately drenched, and my socks? Squishy. My windbreaker did what it could, but eventually that got soaked too. I could feel cold rain sliding down my shirt and sticking to my skin, and the discomfort was unreal. After class, I stopped at 7-Eleven to grab a coffee and some of their hot chicken ☕🍗. My stomach was fine, but I needed something warm—and honestly, I was just trying to reset the...

The Broken Bank Account Drama: My Autopay Disaster (and Other Campus Chaos)

Image
Ever had one of those days where everything just seems to go wrong, yet somehow, it still makes the best kind of story? Yeah, that’s me today. From dodging bees and battling with the Hackensack River (I’ll explain), to Starbucks betrayal and the ultimate enemy—algebra—I’m living the full college experience. Let me break it down for you. The Morning of False Hope: Starbucks Betrayal ☕ I walked across campus with high hopes. I mean, it was a beautiful day and the sun was shining. What could go wrong? I saw my classmate sipping on a chilled iced coffee, and instantly, my thoughts went straight to coffee heaven. So, I made my way to the on-campus Starbucks, feeling all hopeful and prepared. Only… they don’t accept my Starbucks card. Only cash or credit—like, come on! I’ve got money on that card, but I might as well be holding a piece of plastic that just mocks me at this point. What a cruel reminder of how broke I am. So, here I am, iced coffee-less, crossing the bridge back to my side...

Currently Fighting for My Academic Life 📚👩🏽‍🏫🏫

Hey y’all 👋🏾 So, if you’ve been wondering why the blog’s been quieter than usual (or if you didn’t notice at all—which is fair lol), here’s the  realest  update I can give you: Please refer to Exhibit A: That’s me. Spiritually. Emotionally. Mentally. All of it. 😩 Finals season is here and I’ve got four classes— FOUR . And not the cute kind either. We’re talking  Art History ,  Math Algebra ,  Digital Illustration , and  Writing . Math and Writing have especially chosen violence this semester. I’m currently retaking math (shoutout to my awesome professor tho 🙌🏾), but it’s still doing the absolute  most . So yeah... if you’re wondering where the awkward introvert energy went, it’s buried somewhere under assignments, essays, and math problems that feel like they were designed by a villain. 💀 Once the semester ends in May, I’ll be crawling back here to post again—hopefully with a little more brainpower and a lot less caffeine shaking in my system. ☕?...

A Stroll Through Paterson Great Falls

Image
Today was one of those perfect days to be out and about. After getting my hair done downtown, I was thinking of going to my cousin’s house to see what she was up to—and of course, to see her dog Rylo, who is a poodle mix. Love that crazy dog! 🐩😂 She’s literally up the street from the falls, so I figured I could kill two birds with one stone. But nope—she wasn’t home! 😩 She was at work, so I just decided to enjoy my time at the falls instead. Standing in front of the Great Falls, I had to capture this moment—because how often do you get to see nature’s power up close? The sky was overcast, the air crisp, and the rush of the water created a soothing yet commanding presence. I wasn’t trying to do a full-face selfie, just a little moment of “yeah, I was here” with the falls in the background. It’s wild to think about how much history is tied to this place, from the industrial revolution to now. Even with the modern changes, the falls remain timeless—just like this shot. 😎✨ Since I had ...

The Struggle of Winter and Staying Ahead in Class

Image
December hit hard, bringing a bone-chilling cold that had me second-guessing every decision I made to leave the warmth of my home. One day, the weather was tolerable, and then suddenly, winter swooped in with a vengeance. The drop in temperature is like a reminder that the easy days are over, and it’s time to brace myself for whatever this winter has in store. I’m fully bundled up, but nothing quite prepares you for the slap of icy air when you walk out the door. I’ve been avoiding places like the library on campus because of how freezing it gets. The worst part? When you think the heater will save you, and then it turns on for a minute and shuts off like it’s trying to play some cruel game. I’ve gotten creative—layering up in every piece of clothing I own, drinking tea, and relying on my small personal heater to get me through. I’m fully committed to the layering game now. I’m talking multiple sweaters, scarves, and thermals—practically looking like I’m preparing for a trek to the Nor...

Autumn’s Arrival: Not Embracing the Chill 🥶

Image
As I step outside and feel the crisp air against my skin, there’s no denying it—autumn is officially here. The leaves are falling, creating a blanket of amber and gold beneath the trees 🍁, and the once-warm breeze now carries a cold bite 🥶, reminding me that summer is really over. Fall/Autumn 🍃🍁🍂 is here now. Why do I say that? Because it’s freaking cold ❄️ 🥶 outside as I walk to my classes. You can feel the coldness in the air and sense that change 😢😭. It’s like the season arrived with a sudden, sharp reminder that the days of warmth are fading fast, and honestly, I’m not embracing it. I really hate cold weather 😡, even though I love the changing seasons. But wearing layers of clothes and having my hands hurt from the cold… that’s NOT my favorite thing at all. Today, Teaneck is sitting at a brisk 64°F, with clouds draping the sky in a muted gray ☁️, casting a gloomy mood over everything. It’s one of those days where the cold settles in, making you want to wrap up in layers ju...
