Fresh Peach Iced Tea: So Good, We Had No Chill (Literally) 🍑
If you want a drink so good that it’ll be gone before you know it (or before you want it to be), here’s how to make it.
What You’ll Need:
- 4 cups of water (hydration, but make it fun)
- 3–4 black tea bags (because bitterness is a vibe killer)
- 2 fresh peaches, chopped (canned is a crime here)
- ¼ cup sugar (or more, because life’s too short for bland tea)
- Ice cubes (because warm iced tea is the saddest thing ever)
- Extra peach slices for garnish (for that “I have my life together” look)
How to Make It:
Step 1: Brew the Tea
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, then add your tea bags. Let them steep for 3–4 minutes—any longer and you’ll be dealing with the wrath of bitter tea. Remove the tea bags and let it cool slightly.
Step 2: Peach Perfection
In a small saucepan, combine the chopped peaches with sugar and a splash of water. Simmer over medium heat until the peaches are soft and juicy (about 5 minutes). Mash them slightly—don’t go overboard, just enough to release all that peachy goodness.
Step 3: Combine & Marinate
Pour the peach mixture into your brewed tea and let them mix and mingle for at least 10 minutes. You can strain out the peaches, but I’m not about that life—leave them in for maximum flavor.
Step 4: Chill & Serve
Pour everything into a pitcher and throw it in the fridge until it’s nice and cold. Serve over ice, add extra peach slices for garnish, and bam—fancy iced tea.
Final Thoughts:
The last sip tonight hit me like a wave of satisfaction and sadness at the same time. It was delicious, and now it’s gone. I thought it would last, but nope—my thirst and love for peach iced tea were stronger.
If you make this, just know: It won’t last long. And if it somehow does, let me know your secret, because clearly, I lack the self-control to make it last more than a few days.
That’s why I’m already headed to buy more peaches—because I need this in my life again. 🍑 But I might switch it up this time. Maybe a squeeze of lemon for some tang, a drizzle of honey for a little smooth sweetness, or even a splash of bourbon or rum to take it up a notch. If you try any variations, let me know—I’m always down for a new obsession.
