Rainy Day Reset: Self-Care Rituals for the Body & Soul 🧖🏾♀️
It’s a rainy Saturday afternoon. The skies have been gray since yesterday, and honestly? I’m not mad at it. Rainy days are the perfect excuse to slow down, unplug from the world, and reconnect with yourself. So today, I declared it a me day—no guilt, no pressure, just intentional rest and care.
Here’s how I spent my self-care Saturday:
1. A Long, Healing Soak 🛁
I started my day with a hot bath loaded with Epsom salts. My body’s been flaring up lately, and sometimes the only answer is to let the warm water wrap around you like a hug. With the rain tapping outside and no obligations looming, I could finally breathe.
2. Full Body Refresh 🚿🪒
After soaking, I jumped in the shower to rinse off and washed my hair with Hair Food Tea Tree & Lavender Shampoo & Conditioner. The combo is light, fresh, and smells so soothing—exactly what my scalp needed.
I also made sure to shave—because let’s be honest, shaving is a must after your cycle. It cuts down on odor and just makes you feel cleaner and refreshed. That’s a whole self-care moment in itself.
3. Face Time (Literally) 🧖🏾♀️
Next up: skincare. I gently exfoliated with my Epielle Watermelon Scrub, using my Olay facial scrub brush to buff away all the stress of the week. It’s the little things like this that bring me back to myself—soft skin and a calm mind.
4. Scented Vibes 🕯️
To keep the spa-like energy going, I lit my Yankee Candle in Tropical Breeze. The soft, beachy scent filled the space while I moved through each step of my routine. It’s such a mood-lifter.
5. Natural Deodorant Switch-Up
Because regular deodorants have started making me break out, I’ve made the switch to Native or Secret aluminum-free deodorants. They’re gentle on my skin and still get the job done—without all the irritation.
6. Oral Care Pause 🦷
I was going to use my Waterpik, but my gums are a little sore today. And that’s okay. I’m listening to my body and giving it grace. Self-care isn’t just about what you do—it’s also about knowing when to rest.
7. Rest Mode Activated ✨
Right now, I’m stretched out on my bed—clean, soft, and totally at peace. I haven’t even gotten dressed yet. Just lying here, letting my body breathe before I lotion up and start my next thing.
8. Creative Flow & Chill
Soon I’ll be working on some posters for my work-study project (gotta stay productive even on cozy days). And if time’s on my side, I might just dive into The Sims later to build a little digital chaos from the comfort of my sheets.
Final Thoughts
Today reminded me that self-care doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether it’s soaking in the tub, exfoliating your face, shaving post-cycle, or just lying still while it rains outside—you deserve to slow down. Your peace matters. Your comfort matters.
So take this as your sign to pause, reset, and show up for yourself. You’re worth it.
Until next time,
Awkwardly Introverted
🖤
