Professor Igor for the Win!

Image
Alright, so we’re three weeks into the semester, and if you’ve been following my blog, you  know   algebra has been my arch-nemesis. 😤 Last semester was brutal—I struggled, went to tutoring, asked my professor for help, did everything I could, and still got nowhere. My previous professor had this whole   “it’s easy”  attitude, which—spoiler alert—it was NOT. ❌ And to make matters worse, she didn’t believe in extra credit or acknowledging effort. 🙄 Long story short, she failed me, and I had to retake the class. When I met with my advisor, I didn’t care who taught the course as long as it wasn’t her. 🚫 I ended up having to take night classes just to avoid her, but honestly? Best. Decision. Ever. Because this time around, I have Professor Igor, and he’s a game-changer. 🙌🏾 He actually breaks things down in a way that makes sense. 🧠 But the best part? He gives credit for effort. ✅ Participation, homework, helping others—he a...

✨ First Semester Back in College: DONE! ✨

Image
I did it! After taking the leap to go back to college, I’ve officially wrapped up my first semester. It wasn’t always easy—juggling assignments, exams, and life—but I made it through. There were challenges along the way (looking at you, math class 😒), but I never gave up. Even when things felt overwhelming, I kept pushing forward. Now, I’m one step closer to achieving my goals! This semester wasn’t just about academics—it was also about creativity and growth. For my final exam in mixed media, I created  The Journey of Building My Dollhouse , a project that showcased my imagination and allowed me to experiment with different materials. Crafting a dollhouse is more than assembling pieces and painting walls—it’s a reflection of creativity, patience, and vision. Over the past weeks, I transformed a blank dollhouse into a vibrant, miniature world. From designing tiny details to troubleshooting unexpected challenges, this project has been an unforgettable journey. I wanted my dollhouse ...

The Midnight Thoughts of an Awkwardly Introvert Returning to College

Alright, so it’s 12:39 am, and instead of being knocked out, here I am, wide awake, when I should be sleeping. You know, because I’ve got two classes tomorrow, and it just makes sense to be well-rested, right? 🤦🏾‍♀️ But nooo, my brain has decided to go into overdrive instead. I guess it’s a mix of excitement and nerves—starting college again after all this time feels like diving into the deep end. There’s this whole rush of “new”: new surroundings, new students, new professors, and of course, homework (ugh, really?). And I’m over here wondering if I’m ready for it all. But then again, I’m awkward. It’s just who I am. So naturally, I’m lying here in the dark, thinking about anything and everything, instead of just sleeping like a normal person. 😂 Maybe it’s the anxious introvert in me that’s making everything feel a little bit off-kilter. But you know what? Despite the nerves, I’ve got this. I might be an awkwardly introverted mess, but I’m ready to step back into the den. C...

No need to worry though — tutoring is definitely in my future. 😂 You’ll find me there, getting all the help I need to make sure nothing slows me down. So here's to an incredible start, tons of creativity a...
