Today’s the Day to Make Our Voices Count!
Good morning, everyone! It’s 7:33 AM, and as I sit here getting dressed and preparing a hearty breakfast—waffles, crispy bacon, and some eggs on the side—I feel a sense of purpose and excitement. Why? Because today, I’m heading to the polls to cast my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, our candidates for the next President and Vice President of the United States. 🗳️🇺🇸
Voting isn’t just a civic duty; it’s a chance to be part of something larger than ourselves. Right now, our country is at a critical juncture. Our freedoms, our voices, and our future are on the line. We have the power to make a difference—if we choose to show up.
And listen—if you don’t vote, you can’t complain! Don’t come at people who vote differently from you if you’ve never even cast a ballot. Remember, voting records are public, and I won’t hesitate to check you on your shit if you start talking junk. We’re out here fighting for our voices to be heard, so think before you talk.
Now, I've done my part! I cast my vote today for equality, reform, and real change. Wearing my "I Voted" sticker, I felt a sense of pride and hope for what we can achieve together. This election is about more than any one candidate; it’s about the kind of future we want for ourselves and the generations that follow. Let’s make history and show that we’re united in moving forward.
Unfortunately, not everyone in my own family shares this passion for voting. One of my cousins insists he can’t vote because he's a felon, but that’s just not true. If Diddy, who’s in jail, can vote, so can he—he simply doesn’t want to. It’s frustrating to see people so unwilling to take part in shaping their own future. Change doesn’t come from sitting on the sidelines.
Now, I’m home from FDU, watching Election Day coverage on ABC and rooting for the best outcome for America. As both of my professors have said, we can feel that change is possible—but it only happens if we all step up to vote. We need to look forward, with Kamala Harris, toward a future of hope and unity—not the hateful rhetoric that the Trump campaign is spreading.
So if you haven’t cast your vote yet, remember that every single ballot counts. Let’s do this, America!
