Behind the Scenes: My Mixed Media Collage Journey

Behind the Scenes: My Mixed Media Collage Journey

Whew! I’m exhausted from today—class was intense, and FDU's campus is like its own workout session 😂. Seriously, I'm clocking in some major steps just walking around to class and the library. FDU's campus is no joke when it comes to size!

Now, I’m in the final stages of my mixed media collage project, which is due Monday (yikes!). I’ve been going back and forth trying to decide which lips 👄 or nose 👃🏾 to use for the piece, but I can’t be too picky—it’s crunch time, and I need to get this done! 😱 The decision-making process has been real, but I’m pushing through.

Thankfully, my mom stepped in to help, and we knocked out a huge chunk of it together. I’m now 95% done, and even though both of our backs are aching from leaning over this project, I’m happy with how it’s turning out. We were in full-on hustle mode, tackling every piece of this art with serious dedication.

So here’s a sneak peek at the behind-the-scenes action! You can see how many different lip and nose options I was playing around with, trying to find that perfect fit. Mixed media projects have a way of pulling you in with all the little details, but I’m loving the process overall.

Stay tuned, because I’ll be sharing the entire process with you tomorrow when I’m officially done. Almost there—wish me luck! 🎨✨
