A Whirlwind Two Weeks: Exhausted But Grateful

A Whirlwind Two Weeks: Exhausted But Grateful

The last two weeks have been *crazy*, to say the least 😳. Between classes, personal stuff, and life in general, I’m honestly just tired. My feet, though, are thanking me for the new Nike sneakers 👟👟 (shoutout to my uncle, who I honored by putting my nickname on them). It's been two weeks since starting this new college journey, and it’s a lot, but I’m learning and doing *so* much better than in my teens and twenties. I just wish I’d found this college when I first graduated high school, but I guess everything happens when it's supposed to 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Loving My Classes

I’m really loving my website design class—it's been such a bright spot. And now, my mixed media collage class has me excited too. I'll show you what I'm working on soon. It’s one of those things that just makes me feel creative again. I'm hoping everything else falls into place because this next stage of my life feels like it's finally going in the right direction.

But I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard without my best friend, Mark. I miss his texts, his voice, his corny jokes. He was one of those friends that you only get once in a lifetime. His birthday is next month, and I can't help but think about him all the time 😔. If you’re out there partying and drinking, please, please *get a ride*. Use Uber/Lyft, call a friend, sleep it off—just *don’t drive impaired*. Drunk drivers somehow always survive, but the ones they hit usually don’t. My best friend didn't 💔. You don’t need to be drunk or high to have fun. Take it from someone who's lost someone to it—it’s just not worth it.

Math Help, Thank Goodness 😣

On a lighter note, math class actually went well for once! We had a tutor come in, which I was *all too happy* about. Math has never been my thing, and honestly, I avoid it whenever I can. Adding, subtracting, division, fractions...I’m like, *what?* But the tutor was a huge help, and for the first time, I felt proud putting my answers up on the board. Who knew that could feel so good? 🙃

Still Not a Morning Person 🦉

That being said, mornings are *killing* me. I’m not a morning person, and being up early for these classes is so rough. I’m a night owl through and through, and the fact that I didn’t fall asleep in class today is a miracle 😂. But, hey, I made it, and at least I only have one class on Wednesdays now. Five classes is a lot, but with good time management, I’ve been able to get my homework done early. Today I actually had a chance to rest 😴—maybe even read a book (which, let’s be honest, I haven’t done in a while).

Random Life Stuff

Oh, and today I went to lunch with my mom and her coworker. We had pizza 🍕 but had to rush out because the service was slow, and my second class started at 1. Lunch break over for them at 1, too. It’s just one of those *ugh* moments.

After class, I stayed late ⏰ in mixed media to get a head start on my project. I’m excited about the background and face I’m working on—I brought it home to finish, and it’s one of those projects that I can’t wait to show off when it’s done 🏡.

Political Thoughts: The Debate Tomorrow

Tomorrow’s the big debate—Kamala vs. the criminal. The fact that this race is even *neck and neck* blows my mind. Like, seriously? America really shows you that you can do *anything* if you’re a rich white man. And why would anyone want a criminal as president after everything we’ve seen? January 6, Project25, all the tweets, the slurring, the lies, the *magical ear* healing...and don’t even get me started on how the media just lets him slide 🤐.

And don’t even get me started on Republicans saying they’re "fighting for America." No, you’re not. If you really cared about the American people, you would’ve passed legislation on guns and mental health checks for gun owners by now. But you haven’t. And we all know why—*the NRA has you bought and paid for*. Y’all looked WEIRD walking around with those big pads on your ears for Trump but say *nothing* when kids and teachers are being slaughtered by irresponsible gun owners. You don’t care 🤷🏾‍♀️, because if you did, you’d actually try to fix America’s gun violence problem.

Vote blue, people. This is democracy at stake. Anyone with brain cells knows Trump’s not fit for the presidency—*wasn't fit the first time*. Remember how badly he botched COVID? And can we please learn what the VP does before talking nonsense online? Read for yourselves instead of repeating others.

2024 is going to be huge. We need Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to bring happiness back because all Trump spreads is hate and fear. If you care about this country, vote 🗳️. We can’t let ignorance win.

Okay, rant over. Now it’s time to relax a bit before tomorrow. Class of 2028—big things popping, and I’m ready for it 💪🏽.

**P.S.** I am *so tired* 🥱. I still need to make my bed 🛌 and change the sheets, but honestly, not today 😴. I don’t have any more energy left. I don’t even have the TV on, and that’s saying something. I’m going to crash hard tonight, ugh 😩.
