A Day in the Life: Exhaustion, College Prep, and Chinese Food
Oh my gosh, today was one of those days where I’m running on fumes, but I still managed to get a lot done. I’m so exhausted that I can barely keep my eyes open, but let me tell you all about it.
The Morning Madness
My day started way too early—up at 4 AM, not because I had to, but because I was up late enjoying some music and celebrating that my flare-up is almost gone. I didn’t finally drag myself to bed until 4 AM, even though I knew I had to get up at 9 AM. Why? Because I had to catch a ride with my mom to our doctor’s appointments. By the time 9 AM rolled around, I was regretting every minute of that late-night party with my headphones.
The day began with tests at the doctor’s office—nothing like kicking off your day with a medical check-up, right? But I’ll take it as a win because I’m feeling stronger after last week’s hospital stay. Eating and drinking normally again? Big plus!
College Prep: Financial Aid and Campus Treks
After that, it was off to FDU for some much-needed financial aid help. I’m so freaking happy to report that I owe nothing this year! All my classes are paid for, thanks to financial aid. I just wish I had enough to stay on campus because that commute to class is going to be a killer. But hey, I’m blessed to have the aid at all, so no complaints there.
And guess what? My first class is math. Ugh. Math. I hate math. I seriously don’t know how I’m going to get through it, so I went to find tutoring help. FDU’s campus is huge—so much walking, and by noon I finally reached the tutoring building. And…no one was there. Just a public safety officer helping someone get something. Really?
On the same floor was the disability office, so I thought I’d knock out two birds with one stone, but nope—nobody was there either. So, more walking for me, this time to the public safety department, where I was supposed to get my student ID. Surprise! They’ve got a new system, and it’s updating, so no ID for me. Another walk wasted.
More Walking, More Waiting, and Chinese Food
But the walking didn’t stop there. I headed to the library to check out work-study job listings, only to find out the lady in charge is on vacation until tomorrow. Seriously, can anything else go wrong? I decided I’m not going anywhere tomorrow—I’ll wait until Monday when classes start and everyone’s back.
By then, my feet were killing me, and my phone was dying. I hung out in the front office of my mom’s job because I couldn’t face the walk to the bus stop. Thankfully, she took her lunch break and gave me a ride to the stop. I was beyond grateful because by then, my feet were literally on fire.
Then, onto another bus for my allergy appointment in a whole other town, not even close. Miss that bus, and you’re stuck waiting an hour for the next one. So stressful.
Finally Home…Sort Of
After all that, I still had to take the 704 bus home, which doesn’t drop me off close at all. I walked what felt like miles to get home, and by then, I was too exhausted to even think about cooking. I called in a Chinese food order, figuring I’d have time to relax before it was ready. Nope—by the time I got inside, the delivery guy was already there. They cooked it so fast, I barely had time to breathe before I had to get up again to grab my food.
Now, I’m finally home, feet aching, body sore, and completely wiped out. I think this is the most walking I’ve done since leaving the hospital on Saturday. But you know what? I’m blessed. I got my financial aid sorted, I’m getting stronger, and I’m going to sleep so well tonight.
Also, just saw that J.Lo and Ben broke up—oh no, said no one ever, lol.
Epilogue: The Exhaustion is Real
I just dozed off after writing this post that I haven’t actually posted, just written up. Oh well, that’s my story of my day. I’m just exhausted 😴.
P.S. This is going to be a rough week for me. I will need to get back into the funk of things, especially college life. Oh my god, help me 😂
