Revisiting Nightmares & Dreamscapes: A Hidden Gem
Hello everyone!
I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to take a moment to revisit my previous post about the amazing TV miniseries Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King. I received a lot of great feedback from you all, and I'm excited to share a little more about it, along with a special find!
In my last post, I discussed one of my favorite episodes, “Umney’s Last Case,” featuring the incredible William H. Macy. If you haven’t checked out the post yet, I highly recommend it—it’s a deep dive into the themes, storyline, and fantastic performances that make this series a must-watch.
I’m really happy to share that I found a link to the episode on YouTube! You can watch “Umney’s Last Case” right here. I thought it was taken down since I was only finding half of the show. Trust me, it’s worth your time, especially if you're a fan of noir and supernatural elements blended together.
Additionally, I briefly mentioned another favorite episode of mine, “You Know They Got a Hell of a Band.” This episode is another standout from the series, blending suspense, mystery, and Stephen King’s unique storytelling style. If you have the chance, definitely give it a watch as well.
Well, while there are favorites, there are also some dumb ones. Yes, that damn “Crouch End.” I hate it. I didn’t really understand it, and I found it to be really stupid. But I won’t ruin it by telling you what happened—nope π↔️. However, when that part comes on, I just use it as background noise π.
On the flip side, “Battleground” was really good, and I wholeheartedly believe in karma for bad people. Anyways, enjoy watching because it’s 5-plus hours of King lmao π€£.
As a Stephen King super fan, revisiting these episodes has been a joy. The series brilliantly brings King’s short stories to life, capturing the essence of his writing and the eerie, thought-provoking themes he’s known for.
If you end up watching “Umney’s Last Case” or any other episodes from Nightmares & Dreamscapes, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Feel free to leave a comment or reach out on social media.
Title: More Stephen King Miniseries, Shows, and Movies You Should Watch
Hello again!
Since we’re on the topic of Stephen King, I thought I’d share some of my other favorite Stephen King miniseries, shows, and movies. Ok, where to begin because I just love watching Stephen King movies and reading his books. Ok, so there are so many, but I’m gonna try to narrow it down lol π.
First one is the scarily accurate movie titled The Stand. We were actually living the movie for three years straight thanks to the horribleness of the dreaded coronavirus. Ugh π©. Let’s hope that never ever happens again. Once you watch that movie, then you’ll know exactly what I mean. Scary accurate. I think that book became widely popular because of the pandemic.
The second one is Rose Red. Ugh π© I love that movie, and of course, as usual, it is a long movie only because like Nightmares & Dreamscapes, it was a limited series. A must-watch.
Then the third one, probably should’ve put this one first, is my favorite favorite favorite movie—well, again, limited TV miniseries—it is Kingdom Hospital. π₯ I mean, I could go on and on about this show. It’s freaking awesome. I had it saved on my computer, but of course, my computer had to be reset to factory settings thanks to viruses. π¦ π€¬ But it’s a good thing I always back up everything to my Google account or my Weston External Hard Drive. Just go check it out, you won’t be disappointed. But every time I watch it, I can’t believe how lax the laws were when it came to children and the living/working conditions. I will say no more—go watch. Although that one is very hard to find on YouTube and I would upload it if I could, but I’m not.
Christine is another favorite of mine. Just go check it out. I won’t say The Shining because everyone and their mama knows that movie, which is fantastic, but the ones I mentioned don’t get talked about as much and they’re fantastic.
How can I forget the awesomeness of the movie Carrie? It's very popular and is my absolute favorite movie of all high school-themed movies. I’m so glad Stephen King’s wife convinced him to keep it.
Thanks for reading, and happy viewing!
