  As the 2024 elections inch closer, I can't help but notice the extreme lengths campaigns are going to in order to capture our attention. Recently, I came across this graphic comparing Tim Walz and J.D. Vance, and it got me thinking about the polarization that defines our political landscape today. The image is a prime example of how political messaging has shifted from policy-driven discourse to exaggerated portrayals of candidates as either the savior of all things "normal" or the epitome of "weird." Walz, on the left, is depicted as the normal, relatable guy—someone who’s worked in his community, served his country, and respects basic rights like privacy and women’s reproductive choices.
