Living with Behçet’s Disease – My Body’s Worst Betrayal 😩🔥

You ever wake up one day and realize your own body is out to get you? Yeah, that’s me with  Behçet’s Disease —a super fun, super rare autoimmune disorder that I  definitely  didn’t ask for. Never heard of it? Congrats, you’re lucky. Unfortunately, I’m stuck with this stupid thing, so let me be your guide to this medical nightmare. What the Hell is Behçet’s?  🤔💉 Imagine your immune system is supposed to protect you. Now imagine it gets confused and starts attacking your  own blood vessels  for no reason. That’s Behçet’s. It causes  inflammation EVERYWHERE —skin, joints, eyes, stomach, brain, you name it. Basically, my immune system is like a malfunctioning security system that arrests the homeowner instead of the intruder. Oh, and to make things even more fun? Navigating Health Challenges with Determination and Positivity

This week has been a rollercoaster for me. Battling Behçet's disease can be a constant uphill struggle, and life always seems to throw these flare-ups at the worst possible moments. But even during tough times like now, I’m finding little victories, and I want to share my journey. Hospitalization and Ongoing Struggles: I've been in the hospital for four days now, unable to eat, drink, or talk due to Behçet's disease. It became so severe that I had to undergo another endoscopic procedure (EGD). Behçet's has attacked my esophagus again, and it has brought back painful tongue sores and thrush. I started antifungal medication, which is slowly helping me recover. It’s been frustrating knowing that this one issue is holding me back from going home, especially with so many important things coming up—like my college classes starting in 11 days and a big interview on Monday.
